Top Ten Tuesday is a meme hosted by The Broke and The Bookish where we post 10 of our favorite things in each category.
Top Ten ALL TIME FAVORITE Books
1. Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire
I would list the entire series, but this is my favorite book in the series. I think it was the most interesting in perspective of introducing the world of Harry Potter. What is your favorite Harry Potter?
2. Everybody Sees the Ants
A.S. King is magical. I swear her books are stories to live by. This is my personal favorite of hers.
3. Eleanor and Park
A bit of a "duh" one for me. I am a sucker for contemporary romance when it is done well, and I have never seen it done better than Eleanor and Park's story.
4. Winger
First off, can I please just state how proud I am I started the trend of reading this book at my school? I mean it, it's literally everywhere. But it's hilarious and I absolutely love Ryan Dean West.
5. Champion
Probably one of the best sci-fi books I've read. Definitely the best in the series, and it summed up everything so beautifully. LOVE it.
6. The Help
I think this book truly shows how strong individuals-and strong books-have the power to make a change. And we need more of that.
7. The Book Thief
Nothing gets me like WWII does. I am fascinated by WWII, and this book was everything I wanted in a historical fiction and more.
8. The Summer I Turned Pretty
I normally don't enjoy reads like this one, but it was written in a way that I got completely sucked into the story. Oh did I mention I also just love Jenny Han?
9. The Outsiders
I think this book really shows how important Young Adult books can be. It really inspired me as a reader and a writer to think outside of the box in terms of literature.
10. The Name of this Book is Secret
One of my childhood favorites...One of my favorites even now. I loved the mystery in this book, but at the same time I also loved the humor. There was a real uniqueness, eccentricity to this book.
What are your top ten all time favorites? I'd really like to know so that I might be able to read some of them.
The Outsiders was amazing!! It was such a good book! I also loved The Summer I Turned Pretty. It's what really got me into Jenny Han's writing.
ReplyDeleteI agree. :) Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteHarry Potter is one of the best books! It was such a huge part of my childhood.
ReplyDeleteAwesome list! :)
I really hope it becomes a classic, something that people will be reading years from now. :)
DeleteGoblet of Fire is my favorite of the HP books, too! I love how big the world gets with that one -- the World Cup, the Triwizard Tournament, and of course the return of Voldemort as a physical human being. I love that you included Eleanor & Park, too! Hopefully I'll get my list up here in the next hour or so. Great job with yours!
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. She really expanded the world and I was fascinated by all the different aspects. Thank you!
DeleteThe Goblet of Fire was also my favorite Harry Potter book. I thought it was interesting how J.K. Rowling brought in new schools and introduced all these new characters. I also really loved The Help. I thought that it really interpreted just how bad racism was back then and how people handled it. I enjoyed the characters and was so sad for Aibileen at the end. I love your list, these are definitely some great choices!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Help. To me I think that that was one of the strongest books I've read ever, because it really changed my views on some things. Thanks!
DeleteSo many of these I want to read. I'm amazed I still haven't read the Book Thief!
ReplyDeleteOh I totally recommend it. It's so good. Thanks for stopping by!
Deleteharry potter had to be on there. great list havent read them all but I have a couple. I loved Elenor and Park
ReplyDeleteEleanor and Park was one of the best romance novels I've read to date. Thanks for stopping by!
DeleteI loved reading The Book Thief. Historical fiction is my favorite genre to read, and when a historical fiction book occurs in the WWII or pioneer age, it gets bonus points from me. The Book Thief was such a powerful story of love and loss and the power of words, and both the style and perspective were unique. That's a recipe for the perfect book. I've also heard wonderful things about The Outsiders and The Help, so hopefully I'll get around to reading them soon.
ReplyDeleteI totally agree. I think the gloomy but satirical way Death spoke in The Book Thief really brought it to life. I hope you read the other ones!
